Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plan F is the most comprehensive Medigap plan available on the market. Although the most expensive of all plans to choose from, the Medicare Supplement Plan F will cover 100% of all Medicare-approved cost at any doctor, hospital or facility that takes Medicare. Plan F covers Part B Excess Charges. With this plan you will have no out-of-pocket expenses. You pay your monthly premium.
Medigap Plan F is only available to you if you became eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020. This is because people eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020 cannot purchase Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans that pay the Part B deductible.
If you become Medicare-eligible before this date, you will still be able to purchase Plan F. If you were eligible for Medicare before this time but did not enroll, you will be able to purchase Plan F as long as you are within your open enrollment period, have a guaranteed issue right, or you will be underwritten. If you currently have Medigap Plan F, you can continue to renew it from insurers in your state.
