Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plan N

Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plan N is one of the newer Medigap plans approved by Medicare in 2010. In some cases, Medigap premiums for Plan N can be up to 40% less than that of Medigap Plan F. 

Plan N is a popular plan because it offers a good balance between protection against catastrophic out-of-pocket expenses and affordable premiums.

Under Medigap Plan N, you have all the same coverage as Plan F except:

  • No coverage for Part B deductible. The Part B deductible is $233 in 2022
  • No coverage for Part B Excess Charges
  • You may have a co-pay of up to $20 for some doctor visits and $50 for emergency room visits (waived if you are admitted).
  • $50 ER copay

Always ask your doctor if they accept Medicare assignment.
